Bargeral: Bank? Hope I don't need the glass. I didn't need it again yet.But even if you do, not all is lost. Every item you drop is eventually collected by the thieves in the game. If you need something back, you just have to kill a few thieves (by dropping an item, going up or down a ladder, waiting for a thief to teleport in, and killing it before it teleports outs) until one of them drops a 'strange scroll', which teleports you to their hideout, where everything you dropped is found. Nirth: Is it early on you can find the bank or is that a middle or end-game feature?
Very early on.
IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE NOW. Don't KILL any Crows until near the end of the game when you will be told you can finally do so. This means you will be unable to complete a couple quests as they are found and have to wait until the end to backtrack to them. This is because some quests will REQUIRE you to kill crows. Killing crows before you are told you can, will cause a missable achievement also and an additional play through if you save afterwards.
If you accidentally kill one, load a previous save. Pets killing a Crow also count as a Kill for Daniel and void the achievement. Every time you level up be sure to add the character points to your melee weapon chosen and your bow, and also to your constitution and armor.
Extra points hang on to for now, for later use (don't worry, they won't go anywhere!)You just obtained the Key to the Library. This key will unlock the East Zone and also the Library. The Library just so happens to be at the end of the East Zone so we'll have to make our way through there. However, first the Library Key also unlocks one other Lock. The Harnakon Bank Lock, which will be a new feature of the game for us. Located at (2,1) in the Center Zone is the only room unlit in the area and also happens to be the room with the Bank. Use the key on the Skull Lock and then speak with the NPC to learn about the bank.
The location of all the pets in Unepic and the Harnakon bank where you can store items safely. Frogball: 0:00 Coldex: 0:44 Flying plant: 2:02 Dragon: 2:34 Li. In the Linux version. After opening the door of the HarnaBank and talking to the clerk, I went to the big safe. I did not boy the key (not enough money),only lit the candles. But when i went past the clerk to exit the bank I could not move beyond the place where the doors are. (they were open). When I loaded the game, I was at the safe, but with the doors closed.
Purchase a Bank Key and also a Feather (Teleport to Bank) artifact if you wish to use this functionality feature regularly. Light both the torches here at the bank and you'll finally unlock. NOW what does Harnakon Bank do exactly? Well you know Thieves that can steal items from the ground and Crows that can steal rings from your fingers? Well, anything placed inside the Vault of Harnakon Bank is safe from being stolen. You can always get items back (including those stolen by Crows) by killing enough thieves until one drops a Strange Scroll (which teleports you to the thief hideout to get your loot), but this might save you time by just leaving things here when you choose to.Harnakon Bank.
CROW ALERT CROW ALERTTime to get your Crow Map handy. The East Zone has 1 Crows room at (4,3) so we'll want to avoid killing any while in there! Now the next sections of the game will have a handful of Crow rooms. One of the annoying things about Crows is they have a 75% chance of stealing a random ring from your inventory upon successful hits. This can be rather annoying especially considering we will be going into these rooms with the intention of not killing any crows (for an achievement).
Now the vault works as a “safe place” that you can leave any item on the floor inside the vault (use the door first between torches to go actually inside) and it is unstealable. No thieves can run in there and take it. Now, If a ring is stolen from the crow, they go to the same place that Thiefs take your dropped loot items; the Thief Hideout. So if you are trying to keep said shiny rings, you’ve got two options 1) You can drop off all your rings in the vault when you know you’re about to go into a crow room soon (time consuming) or 2) You can just risk it and then simply later get the rings back from a thief hideout. In order to get to a thief hideout you need a Strange Scroll. When you kill a thief they have a random chance of dropping a prevously stolen item of yours or a Strange Scroll. You’ll probablly need to kill 5-10 before you get a Scroll. Once you get the scroll use it and it teleports you to their hideout.
Grab all the loots and then HALO back out and save. Thieves will not spawn in certain areas of the Castle. In order to lure a thief, the best strategy is to find a ladder outside of Zoran’s drop some worthless loot “bait” on either side of the ladder. Now thieves only come for the loot when you’re on a different level than the aforementioned loot. So climb the ladder to a different level and wait for them to comb grab it.
Quickly climb back up or down the ladder and kill them before they can teleport away. It may take up to 20 seconds before a new thief will come, but typically they’ll come very quickly. Keep this up until you get a Strange Scroll. The East Zone is accessible from (1,1) the Center Zone room with the Shop. Use the new found Library Key on the Skull lock and proceed left. The path will be pretty linear for a while.
QUEST - The Vengeance ( OPTIONAL)Reward: Scroll of Midas TransmutationQuest Giver: NPCLocation: East Zone (0,2)0 / 1 Orc with 8 LeechesIt's a little more time consuming and the reward is minimal (about 50 coins give or take) so it's pretty safe to skip it. If you're a true completionist in these type games i'll outline it below. Up to you. What you have to do for this Quest is 'collect' 8 Leeches by going back to the Sewers and wading through the Sewer water that we did previously. Leeches can not kill you but they will bleed your health until it is near death. Walk through the waters in the Sewer until you get 8. Each section of water will typically give you 2-4 leeches only. Once you've got 8 I'd suggest a HALO / SAVE.
Then head back to the Quest Giver and head into the interior room on the right.Interior Area. This room just has a handful of Satyr Mage guys from previous earlier areas. They're pretty easy to dispatch. X3 Potion of Giant Strength in the middle left chest.
Watch out for a couple booby traps. There will also be a Goonies reference and just past the Goonies kid be sure to sneak past some traps and get the chest behind the hidden wall with x52 coins. Also in this screen is an Interior room leading to an optional Quest. I'd suggest completing it since it only takes a minute and gives you a reward which you can always sell for 100 coins or so.Interior Room. LVL 8 PolearmDamage: 158Critical Chance with Polearms +4%Special: This Weapon's magic allows it to attack several targets at once.In order to get the Key for this optional quest, you'll need to Scroll of Phase Door across the fire, loot the skeleton's body then either Phase Door back, Scroll of Return back, or HALO and then work your way back on foot. If you don't have a Phase Door teleport to Zoran's buy a few Phase Doors and some Scroll of Returns. Use the Scroll of Return to return to quest. Then use Phase Doors to complete.
Return the Key for your Reward. HALO / SAVE & Shortcut Gate back to East Zone. Run back through (2,3) then onwards to (3,3).
This mini boss is relatively simple and we will be dispatching him to an early retirement with the BOW and targeting him with.If you've been upgrading your bow skills with each new Character Level UP, you should have 8 or 9 bow skills about now. You should be able to deal 200+ damage to him per shot. He has two types of attack to retaliate against your aggression.1) He will shoot Arcane blasts of purple magic projectiles at you. You can either jump over them, climb down the ladder to avoid, or just take a few hits (as they don't deal too much damage).2) His second attack and the one that you'll want to be careful of will result in a one hit kill for Leviathos on you if you're not careful. He will shoot a long cord of Arcane purple energy that will grab Daniel like a leash and catapult him into the air over the spike pit. You will have a few moments to quickly push or to grab the zipline before you will plummet to an untimely insta-death on the spikes. Also during this attack you'll want to be careful since sometimes he will double or even triple leash you, so that while you are ziplining you may get grabbed again and have to quickly press up again to grab the zipline a second or third time.
Finally you will need to make sure not to 'get greedy' with 'one extra shot' of your bow as the leash grabs you. If you are in the animation of firing your bow while you're grabbed you will have to finish the shot while flying through the air and this will the majority of the time cause you to be unable to grab the zipline and fall to your death. Once he's dead a hidden ladder will appear and at the top be sure to light the final torch for this screen. In here watch out for all the poisonous spiders and scorpions.
Clear them out with a some good ole on your BOW. Grab the chest with the Magic Double Axe on the upper right ledge. Once you've cleared them all out, light all the torches you can then head into the Interior Room of (5,3). In here is an Optional Pet Quest. I'd suggest completing it as it can give you a pretty good reward. Inside the room you will be given a fetch Quest to traverse a small interior area of screens, kill monsters along the way, and retrieve a Dragon Whelp Egg.
You have two options and you can not change your mind later in the game once you've saved. You can return the unopened Egg to the Quest Giver NPC for a sweet Ring as a reward (recommended) or you can keep the Dragon as a Pet by opening the Egg in your inventory once you've obtained it and failing the Quest (not recommended but is ok if you decide he's too cute to give up!). The upcoming room (4,3) has the infamous crows.
Either drop your rings off at the Harnakon bank or take the chance. Crows have a 75% chance of steal on a successful hit, but keep in mind you can always get your Rings back eventually by luring and killing enough thieves to get a dropped Strange Scroll and heading to the thief hideout. Inside here be sure not to kill any crows, and light all the torches. The upper left chest has a Magic Pike. The lower left chest has x31 Red Magic Essence. Making sure you didn't kill any crows (check stats monsters slain if paranoid). There is a Hidden Wall in the Crow room at the top left with a Wand: Polymorph that's guarded by a Hidden Snake also.
Then head to the Shortcut Gate and unlock it. HALO / SAVE & Shortcut Gate back to same one.
